As per his normal routine, Bader Niang was sheltering in a Chinatown alleyway when allegedly, two officers woke him up and asked him to leave. Obeying their order, Niang made an attempt to fully rise and retrieve his shoes, when surprisingly, a policeman pushed him into a concrete block.
Niang, who moved to Canada from Senegal 7 years ago, prefers the area due to the warmth it provides.
Montreal Police state they are aware of the video and are currently investigating:
Mayor Valérie Plante has also been outspoken about the incident on Twitter:
Still recovering (physically & mentally), Niang hopes the experience will be a teachable moment for Police on how to deal with the homeless.
