Lawsuit in Works. Both incidents occurred on June 10th, 2021, within blocks of each other. Both families have hired lawyers and are preparing a lawsuit. The families also considering filing a complaint to the police ethics committee. 1st incident shows Montreal police officer putting knee to the neck of Black teen. 2nd Incident shows boy being grabbed and thrown to the ground. “We want our kids to be safe, we want the city to be safe” said Fernando Belton, the lawyer representing the families of the two boys. Police claim 1 teen pushed an officer away when being arrested, police found a stun gun in his bag. SPVM claims the other boy ran away from police officers. Neither boy has been charged yet.
